For more than a century, the Scipio Creek Marina & landing served as the depository for the vast log rafts that floated down the Apalachicola to the port city for milling and shipment abroad. This inlet on the creek which is a major tributary of the Apalachicola River currently serves as the home port for much of the Apalach Shrimping fleet, serving shrimper boats from 40- 75 feet in length. The design called for a repair Haul-Out and Maintenance Building with capacity for heavy lift and tooling, a new Harbor Masters Office and Ice making and Storage facility, an Open-Air pavilion for the Captains meeting space and sale for fresh catch and a Public Restroom space with showers for crew and visitors.
